History of Life Choices Family Resource Center
The Crisis Pregnancy Center of Montrose, Inc. (DBA Life Choices Family Resource Center) was started in 1984 by three community members. Pregnancies were on the rise in the area, and they wanted to provide a Christian alternative to abortion. Their goal was to bring help and hope to those in our community who were unprepared for pregnancy and offer parenting and relationship education. Their services would create safe and healthy families and help reduce the number of abortions in Montrose County.
During these many years, we have had the privilege and honor of walking with families who are making difficult decisions, and we do it with the love of Christ. Countless volunteers, dedicated staff, and board members make this ministry one of hope, value, and compassion. Our mission hasn’t changed in 40 years, even though our services have expanded. Our Values
We are a Christ-centered ministry that promotes life-affirming options. After 40 years of serving women and saving the lives of the most vulnerable in our society, we’re feeling stronger than ever, thanks to the prayers and generous support of partners like you.
We are committed to upholding the sanctity of human life, and our goal is to change the hearts of abortion-minded women so that they choose life. We do this by offering free pregnancy testing and follow-up ultrasounds—because we know that when women see their babies, they are more likely to choose life.
But we also offer free educational opportunities so that these women and families feel supported and encouraged in their life-affirming choices. We do this by sharing the benefits of healthy sexual choices and pregnancy options and by providing parenting and pre-natal skills. We are pleased to offer Nurturing Fathers, a nationally recognized 13 week program that uses evidence-based curriculum to help dads become the best father they can be. We also offer encouragement, material assistance, STD testing, local referrals, free education, abortion information, post-abortion support, and loving spiritual assistance.
